Diablo 4 Season 3 News and Updates

As noticed by GamesRadar, Blizzard has acknowledged that they have been too tight-lipped about Diablo 4 Season 3 due to the holiday break but revealed that more information is on the way very soon. The D4 season 3 theme and specific content are also under wraps at the time of writing.

If we look at the previous pattern, there was no gap between the end of Season 1 (Season of the Malignant) and the start of Season 2, so Season 3 may follow in the same footsteps. Not much else is known about the next Diablo 4 season, but here’s what Adam Fletcher (Global Community Development Director) shared on X/Twitter on January 9, 2024.

“I know there is a lot of anticipation toward Season 3 news for #DiabloIV. We’ve been a bit quiet due to people rolling back in from holiday break, but we will have some news to share very soon including times for our Developer Update livestream (LIVE FROM Blizzard Albany!)”

Plus, Rod Fergusson shared, “Lots of Season 3 details coming over the next two weeks. It’s going to be a fun one!”

So, rest assured that a livestream will reveal a bunch of information and news for Diablo 4 Season 3. Follow Blizzard‘s official Diablo channels on Twitter for the latest updates and keep an eye out for a potential livestream announcement revealing detailed information about Season 3.

Update: We have a teaser.

However, here’s everything that’s already known about the upcoming new features shared during Blizzcon 2023.

  • Introduction of The Gauntlet: It’s a weekly timed challenge dungeon that is available once you unlock World Tier 4. It’s nonlinear with a fixed layout, so the monsters and affixes will remain the same. The layout stays for the week and changes at the start of the next one. Various Seals and Frames will be the rewards for the Gauntlet.
  • Leaderboards and Hall of Ancients: Leaderboards will be introduced for solo, party, hardcore, and softcore filtered by region, platform etc. They will reset for every Gauntlet and top players will be included in the Hall of Ancients which is a permanent leaderboard.
  • Increased Helltide frequency: Enjoy these events more often, with a cooldown reduced to five minutes, similar to Blood Harvest in Season 2.

That’s everything known about D4 season 3. This year, Diablo 4 will receive the first major expansion, Vessel of Hatred but it will release in the last quarter. This DLC adds a fan-favorite location from Diablo 2 and introduces a brand new class never before seen in the game’s universe.

Much before that, Diablo 4 will receive ray-traced reflections and shadows in March as announced during Nvidia’s CES 2024 Special Address, so players certainly have a lot to look forward to.
