Made a wrong character and want to start over in DD2? Well, you will have to delete your save rather than being able to start a new game.
Character Creation and haste often go hand-in-hand, be it in terms of looks or maybe the class you pick it is very easy to make a character that you don’t like and might want to change later. Sadly, in Dragon’s Dogma 2, there isn’t a new game option as such, so players are wondering how they can delete their saves to start over. The problem is they not only have to delete it locally but also delete the Steam cloud save. Here is the location where you can find it:
You have to delete the 2054970 folder in your Steam userdata sub-folder.
If you haven’t started playing, Open Steam, go to your Library, and right-click on DD2. Next, choose Properties, and under the General section make sure you toggle off Steam Cloud. This will make it so that your saves aren’t backed up on Cloud. Now here is how you delete the main files.
Now, try playing DD2 and you should be able to start a new game. In case you already had Cloud Save on then you can still follow the above steps and start the game offline. Then the next time when Steam warns you about finding two different saves make sure you choose the local save over Cloud. Once you are happy with your character you can always enable cloud saves again.
Warning: There have been reports by some users on Reddit, or 4chan about Denuvo considering each new start of the game as a separate game activation. So if you delete it more than 5 times in a day you can get locked out of the DD2 for a day. So make sure you don’t overdo when deleting your saves especially if you play on multiple PCs.
That is all for how you can delete saves in Dragon’s Dogma 2. While you are here you might also want to check our guides on what Moniker is and the Vocations tier list.
