How to defeat Poppy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The Elite Four are the strongest trainers of a particular region. You have to win all the Gym Badges to challenge them. In Scarlet and Violet, after defeating Rika, you will face Poppy. Despite her appearance, she is a tough nut to crack. She uses Steel-type Pokemon and apart from Copperajah, all are dual-types. If you are having trouble beating him then look no further. In this article, we will tell you how to defeat Poppy of the Elite Four in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

    Using Talon Flame against Poppy

All of Poppy’s Pokemon have a good defense and they can hit hard. So your selection of Pokemon against her should be perfect. After every battle, you can switch Pokemon in your party so you can choose the right ones against her. Here’s a list of Poppy’s Pokemon and their weaknesses.

    • Copperajah (Lv. 58) – It’s a pure Steel-type Pokemon with a weakness to Fire, Fighting, and Ground-type moves. It has a high Attack stat, so try and take it out as soon as possible.
    • Magnezone (Lv. 58) – This is an Electric/Steel-type Pokemon that is weak against Fire, Fighting, and Ground-type moves. Ground-type attacks do 4x damage so you can one-shot it with Earth Power.
    • Bronzong (Lv. 58) – It’s a Steel/Psychic-type with a weakness to Fire, Ground, Dark, and Ghost-type moves.
    • Corviknight (Lv. 58) – This is a Flying/Steel-type Pokemon with a weakness to Fire and Electric-type moves.
    • Tinkaton (Lv. 59) – It’s Poppy’s last Pokemon which is a Fairy/Steel-type. It will Terastallize to Steel-type immediately. It is weak to Fire and Ground-type moves. Although you can use Fighting-type attacks because of the Tera form.

Every one of Poppy’s Pokemon has a weakness against Fire-type moves. So if you have a Skeledirge in your team, you can beat her easily. If you don’t then a Talonflame can act as a substitute. Ground-type attacks work as well but Bronzong can Levitate so they might not work. Also, give your Fire-type Pokemon a Charcoal to hold. This item will boost its Fire-type attacks and beat your foes with a single attack.

That’s all from us on how to defeat the Elite Four Poppy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You can check our guide on how to beat the next trainer Larry and more in our SV section.
