What is the Necromancer class in Dead Rails?
Upon selecting the Necromancer class, players begin with a Shovel as their starting weapon. The core ability of this class is a 25% chance to reanimate any enemy defeated using a melee weapon. However, each successful reanimation comes at the cost of 10 health points, so you need to plan carefully. Similar to other games with the Necromancer class, here too, you have the glass cannon aspect.
The main ability might sound similar to the Jade Sword’s power, and it’s best paired with the Necromancer class in Dead Rails, because the chance of reanimating dead enemies increases to 75%.

Reanimated enemies-turned-allies will look for enemies on their own, so you can focus on other things during encounters, such as protecting yourself or going aggressive. It’s important to note that once an enemy is reanimated, their corpse cannot be harvested for resources, so choose to go ahead only if you have enough for your run.
Another thing to remember is that you have to use the melee weapon if you want to reanimate the enemy, which means it’s best to go for weaker ones instead of the tanky foes like Werewolves. Even then, it’s a matter of chance, so it’s very risky to go after tougher opponents.
If you enjoy high-risk and high-reward style gameplay and have played as a Necromancer in other games, this is a good choice in Dead Rails as well. However, if you want to try out something else like the Vampire or Werewolf classes, here’s what you need to know beforehand.
