To chop trees players would need to have a stone axe. If you don’t have the stone axe in your inventory already, you can make one by unlocking the Fuse ability and fusing a one-handed weapon with a stone. Sometimes even the Constructs in Sky Islands wield a stone axe so make sure to grab it. Once you have the stone axe in your inventory you can follow these steps to chop down some trees:

  • Head toward the tree you want to chop down
  • Face the direction in which you want the tree to fall
  • Once you do hit right on your D-pad to equip the stone axe from your inventory
  • After which press Y to attack two/three times and the tree will fall down

The chopped-up tree would drop some leaves, branches, and fruits as well. The wood log can then be used as it is to build platforms, wagons, vehicles, etc.  You can also chop the wood log further down to obtain some wood materials. Players can keep these wood materials in their inventory and they can use them for various purposes like starting a fire.

That is everything about how you can cut down trees in Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom. Here is our guide if you are not familiar with how you can make wooden platforms in Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom.
