Crysis 2 Remastered & Crysis 3 Remastered in Development?

Two months ago Crytek released a technically revised version of its former first-person shooter hit series in the form of Crysis Remastered. Now a message is circulating about further new editions of the FPS series.

In the last few months, the Crysis series didn’t really go smoothly, because just as the former first-person shooter hit was technically revised, it evoked mixed reactions. Ultimately, although the developer Crytek delayed the game’s release, the title failed to convince either critics or gamers on a technical level. Perhaps the revised versions of the two successors could do this, about which there are now new rumors.

These new reports have their origins in a Twitter message from user PPG, who mentions the publication dates of three other Crysis games. Both Crysis 2 Remastered and a Crysis 3 Remastered are mentioned here. According to the news, the revised version of the second part of the shooter series should have originally appeared on August 20, 2020, part 3 should supposedly follow on February 21, 2021.

In addition, the tweet also mentioned a “Crysis Collection”, which would have formed the end of the Crysis Remastered series on May 21, 2021. However, a technically revised version of the add-on Crysis Warhead is not listed. So far, the game has not been implemented for other platforms. Crytek itself has not yet commented on this message, which is why it should be viewed with the necessary portion of skepticism.

Although the release dates stated in the Twitter message are very likely not to be correct, mainly because of the aforementioned postponement of Crysis Remastered, there could be something to this message. In the past few months, we have received reports that Crytek could work on further titles – one of them mentioned technically revised versions of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 more than half a year ago.

At the time, Crytek only commented on the news that “Crysis Remastered” would not contain a revised version of “Warhead”.
