One of the amazing aspects that is available to players is the ability to create dedicated servers in Ark Survival Ascended. Although you need to spend some real life money, you do get to play with your own community. If spending money isn’t an option for you, there are non-dedicated servers that you can join up. However, there is a problem with those and in this server guide we will explain that.
If you have had too much fun playing single player in Ark, dedicated or non-dedicated servers are something that you should check out. Especially if you have friends waiting to play with you. While in dedicated servers are easy to create, non-dedicated ones can be a little tedious.
How to Create Servers in Ark Survival Ascended
While you can easily create non-dedicated and dedicated servers yourself, they are a little costly. But if you want to play with your own friends or community or simply want to avoid single player, this is the option you will need going forward. The developers for ASA have partnered with Nitrado for dedicated server creation and players can simply follow this link and you will be taken to their website.
There is a dedicated Ark Survival Ascended server page on Nitrado that will help you with the process forward. Players can choose between different day packages and purchase them to create their own dedicated servers in the game. You can have between 26 to 200 players on your server depending on the package and conditions that you choose.
How to Host Dedicated Servers
Now that you know all about creating servers, it’s time to jump into the hosting part. Once you have had your Ark Survival Ascended server setup for dedicated hosting, here’s what you need to do:
- While in the main menu, look for the Create Game option.
- Next, you need to select the map and the options you would want in your server.
- Now, you can choose the dedicated servers and then set a password on it just for protection.
- You can simply share your server name and password to the players you would want to invite on to it.
How to Play Non-Dedicated Servers
Non-Dedicated servers are an entirely different category that mostly will need co-ordination between you and your friends. Along with joining the same servers, you will also need the host to keep playing. For a non-dedicated server, the game ends once they are offline (unlike dedicated servers) and that can be troublesome.
So unless you know a host who can stay AFK and keep the game running, the best option is to play with dedicated servers in Ark Survival Ascended.
Ark Survival Ascended Server Full error
While the servers are up and running properly, players are finding out that many of them are full even if the count does not match the actual number of players. Fortunately, this seems like a common bug and Studio Wildcard is fixing it soon enough. Studio Wildcard acknowledged this error and they are working behind the scenes so we should have some clarity soon. Having said that, if you are facing this issue on your dedicated server, it’s best to contact them since you have already paid for the server.
Although there are mods that will help you with setting up servers, it’s best that you choose Nitrado for easier functioning and smooth gameplay. Since some players have reported about facing such errors with mods, you might be able to avoid that.
Ark Survival Ascended Server List
There are plenty of servers running in the game and unlike the in-game list, you can check out the list of servers by heading to BattleMetrics. They have listed down working servers along with a few other factors on them and you can view more than what you can get on in-game servers list.
That’s all we have from this server guide. Since you are playing Ark Survival Ascended, you should check out our dedicated section for more such guides here at Gamer Tweak.
