Like every Zelda title, you can change time from day to night or vice versa in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Similar to BOTW, changing the day or night cycle requires fast-forwarding the time. Although waiting is an option, you may need to change the day for many quests and side quests. With different weathers, you must ensure that Link has suitable resources and is resistant to every environment. While you cannot directly stop lightning thunders or storms, you can pass the time until it turns Sunny. But how to pass the time in the latest Zelda game? Check out our guide to find out everything about changing the time of day or night in Zelda: TOTK.
How to Change the Day Time in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
You can pass time or fast-forward the day/night cycle by using a Bed or fire in Zelda: TOTK. By doing so, you can not only change the day-to-night but also the night-to-day time. When changing the day or night cycle in Tears of the Kingdom, there are three timing options you can select.
These timings are as follows:
- 5:00 AM (Until Morning)
- 2:00 PM (Until Noon)
- 09:00 PM (Until Night)
So, let’s delve into the two ways to change the day to night or vice versa in Zelda: TOTK in more detail:
How to Pass Time in Zelda TOTK using Fire
You can change the day to time or subsequently night to day by sitting near the campfire. Since starting a fire requires fewer resources, you can fast-forward time at any preferred location. All you need is a bundle of Wood, Flint, and a stone-type weapon or equipment.
Follow the below steps to pass the time using Fire in TOTK:
- Start the campfire and approach the fire until the Sit option prompts.
- Soon as you sit near the fire, you will be prompted with the three timing options above.
- Then, you just need to select the suitable and preferred option to skip the time.

How to Pass Time in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom using a Bed
You can find Beds in almost all the villages, towns, settlements, shelters, stables, & outposts across Hyrule. While skipping time using a campfire is easiest, there are multiple benefits of passing time using a Bed. But the only drawback is that you need to spend some additional Rupees.
- It usually costs you 20 Rupees to skip the time using a Bed.
- But if you want to save extra bucks, fast-travel to Lookout Landing and head over to Emergency Shelter. Over there, you can rest for free and fast-forward time accordingly.
- Once you have rested, you can restore your lost Hearts and heal yourself.
- Some settlements or villages also offer Massages that can restore your Stamina.
- But resting in these beds usually charges you more rupees. You can check out our guide on how to farm more Rupees to earn more money.
