Pokemon GO: Can You Go Back To The Old Avatars? (How To Customize Character)

Published Date :

Niantic and its updates have always been a hit or miss, but with the RediscoverGO, things aren’t looking very good. Players everywhere are searching for a way through which you can go back to your old avatars in Pokemon GO.

With this update, Niantic intended to make the avatars look “more like You” and even added character customization options. However, none of them seem to work as they must have planned. Almost all the comments in their announcement thread were met with negative reception. This reaction was similar to when they introduced the nerfs for remote raids. But let us not focus on that, here is everything you should know about the new Avatar design and customization features.

Can You Go Back To Your Old Avatars in Pokemon GO?

Sadly, at the time of writing this guide, there is no way to revert back to your original avatar. Especially, since the game requires you to be on the latest version, installing an older version of the app won’t be of any help either.

As of now, Niantic or Pokemon GO doesn’t seem to have responded to any of the feedback from the community. So, unfortunately, these new avatars might stick around. You can check out the original tweet here and the community’s reaction to it.

  1. Tap on your Trainer icon on the bottom left corner of the game screen.
  2. Next, tap on Style and choose Appearance.
  3. Now, you can change their eye color, hairstyle, skin tone, hair color, and more. You can also use the Custom button to edit your Weight, Muscle, Shoulders, Chest, and Hips for your character.
  4. Close the menu by tapping the X button, go back and these changes will be applied.

There is nothing much that you can do about the new Pokemon GO avatar update. However, if you are stuck on the party challenge screen then there is a way to fix it. In the meantime, you can also check how to catch Galarian birds.
