Hogwarts Legacy has many shops and other vendors, but should you buy a shop? While exploring the Wizarding world of Hogwarts Legacy, you will come across shops in various locations. They can also be outside of Hogsmeade but are much less a shop and more of a vendor. But in Hogsmeade, you can find plenty of shops with different purposes for each. Here is also where you can have your own shop, let’s learn more about this.
Should I buy my own shop and what does it do in Hogwarts Legacy?
First, let’s make it clear that buying a shop is currently exclusive to PlayStation players only. It will be available for other platforms like PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on February 10th, 2024. It does seem unfair to players on these platforms but it isn’t anything major in terms of gameplay or story so it’s okay.
In order to buy a shop you need to have progressed through most of the game. It is unlocked by doing the Minding Your Own Business quest and then you can buy it from Cassandra Mason for 1,500 Gold.
You need to be at least level 28 before attempting this quest as the enemies you encounter in it are pretty strong. Most players will likely reach this point after completing the story. Also, this quest can only appear in the winter season of the game.
What are the benefits of owning a shop?
When you buy your own shop in Hogwarts Legacy, you get to give it a name. You will also have a House-Elf as the shopkeeper. Unfortunately, the only actual benefit to owning your shop is that you will be able to sell your items at 10% more price. There is nothing you can actually buy from your own shop either. Regardless, you can now sell all your items at a better price in your own shop.
