Baldur’s Gate 3 has a number of potions you can consume that will help you attain some powerful buffs. However, not all of them will feature a description of its uses and effects. Similarly, the Broken Promises is a potion created by the hag that consists of a cryptic message instead of a detailed description. If you have been wondering how you can get this particular potion and what will be the after-effects once you consume it, here is a guide you can follow and understand more about this mysterious item.
Where to Find the Broken Promises Potion in BG3
In order to get this hag-created potion, you will have to pay a visit to Auntie Ethel, whom you must have met during Act 1. You will first have to fight her and then defeat her once again after you enter her lair.
Once you go against her and defeat her, you can look around the room and search for the Broken Promises potion which will be located on a stone shelf. Apart from this one, you will also be able to pick up all the other potions made by Auntie Ethel.
Broken Promises Potion Effects in Baldur’s Gate 3
Once you are able to get this potion, you will notice that most of these mysterious items don’t have a proper description of their uses and effects. After you consume this potion, your strength will increase by 2 until Long Rest. However, once you rest, your strength will be reduced by 1. Therefore, if you go to compare, this potion can cause more harm, and using it on yourself or any other character might not necessarily have any useful effects.
Additionally, the effects of this potion can be removed only once your character dies and is revived back to life. Due to this reason, it is important to always check whether a potion is strength-boosting before you consume it, especially if it is created by Auntie Ethel.
This is everything you need to know about the Broken Promises potion and its effects. You can also read about all the other potions in Baldur’s Gate 3 and how you can craft them, all available here on Gamer Tweak.
