Want to know whether you should get branded by the Mark of the Absolute or not? Check out this BG3 guide.

On the journey of finding a cure and getting rid of the parasite within their mind during Act 1, players will come across quite a lot of characters willing to help them out. However, one of the NPCs that you will bump into who wouldn’t offer you to remove the parasite but instead have an even better proposition for you is Priestess Gut also known as True Soul Gut. The old Goblin Woman is a true soul and a follower of Absolute residing in the Goblin Camp right after you enter the Shattered Sanctum.

Since she is the spiritual leader of the Cult of the Absolute, Gut will offer you the opportunity to get the Mark of the Absolute in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, as you have come far enough on your journey in the game, you will realize that such vital decisions may have consequences going further. And you might wonder if getting branded for a permanent bonus can lead you to some drawbacks. So if you are wondering whether or not to get the sign of the Elder Brain in BG3, then here is everything you need to know

Yes, you should get the Mark of the Absolute in Baldur’s Gate 3 from Priestess Gut in the Shattered Sanctum. There are no major consequences going forward into the campaign for getting branded by the sign of the Elder Brain. Instead, there are quite a lot of benefits that outweigh any drawbacks. The only notable drawback to the decision is that some of your companions including Shadowheart might not approve of your decision for the time being.

Getting the Brand of the Absolute will let you access and use exclusive gear and equipment. This includes Absolute’s Warboard and Gloves of Power in BG3. It is worth mentioning that using these gears without the mark would lead your character to be cursed by bane. The only way to get rid of it would be to either take a long rest or use the Remove Curse spell.

That being said, the Mark of the Absolute in Baldur’s Gate 3 will also let you have special dialogue and roleplaying options going forward. Not to mention, you will also be able to achieve some of the specific endings in the game. Another thing worth mentioning is that the Priestess Gut will only brand one of the characters from your party. If you are looking to brand two or more of your members, then after interacting with Gut you will need to speak with Warlock Greez.

We would recommend getting the Mark of the Absolute as it does not have any major narrative consequences and provides you with a lot more benefits. You will have the option to hide and show the brand whenever you want which makes it even more advantageous in the game.
