How To Block In My Hero Ultra Rumble

Published Date :

While every mechanic in My Hero Ultra Rumble seems pretty straightforward, it seems that the controls for Blocking an attack make an exception. And that’s why, many players are finding ways to execute this defensive trick. Even for a player like me, I would prefer to block over dodging an incoming strike. So is there a way to actually Block in My Hero Ultra Rumble? Scroll down below to find out.

How to Block Attacks in My Hero Ultra Rumble

After plenty of research, I have found out there is no way to block attacks in this My Hero Academia-based Battle Royale. The least you can do to avoid getting hit is dodge and get out of harm’s way. To compensate for the lack of blocking mechanics, the developers have added Guard Points (GP) in the game. GP acts like a shield and absorbs all the damage you take. This is also an indirect way to block damage and tackle the reduction of Health Points. The GP bar is located just above the HP Bar and will diminish each time you take damage. Once it is completely emptied, you will begin to lose HP after getting hit by an opponent. So you see, maintaining your GP Bar is somehow a way to block in My Hero Ultra Rumble. The only difference is that you won’t be using your hands or weapons to block.

How to Get Guard Points in MHUR (Increase Defense)

Just like there’s a Green Potion for increasing HP, there is a Blue Potion that boosts your GP. You can collect the Blue Potion by opening chests and looting the corpses of your dead enemies in the match. Consuming that potion will increase your GP bar by a significant margin. Aside from this, there are giant potions or team potions that fully restore your GP. Another way to fully restore your GP Bar in My Hero Ultra Rumble is to go Plus Ultra (PU). This PU meter fills over time as you give and take damage in a match.

How to boost GP in My Hero Ultra Rumble

If you want to boost your team’s defense, then I suggest you pick Assault Characters. They have character bonuses that improve your team’s overall defense. The more Assault characters you have, the more strong your defense will grow. As of now, these are all the Assault Characters available in My Hero Ultra Rumble:

  • Izuku Midoriya
  • All Might
  • Mt. Lady
  • Itsuka Kendo
  • Eijiro Kirishima

That’s everything you can do to “Block” in My Hero Ultra Rumble. If your teammate fails to mitigate damage and is knocked out, then you can Revive them. To know how to do so, make sure to check out our dedicated section for MHUR Guides at Gamer Tweak.
