Best Starter Unit in Anime Vanguards
It’s tough to come up with the perfect starter unit because it’s subjective and depends on your playstyle and preferences. However, Luffo is a good unit to begin with due to the damage from his punches and range which can be useful when you’re just starting and figuring out the mechanics of the game. For example, the very first stage is a total breeze with Luffo due to the area his Physical damage covers and his ranged attacks.
Luffo’s Unit Passive is “Greatest Pirate: RNG +5% with each attack performed (up to +15%). Resets after 10 seconds of not attacking.” Basically, this enhances his effectiveness over time by increasing his range by 5% with each attack, allowing him to hit enemies from further away as the fight goes on. This makes Luffo particularly good for stages where strategic positioning and consistent range growth are key.
That’s not to say that the other units of Roku and Ichiga won’t be good — they can be, but personally, Luffo worked out the best for me. Clearing waves of enemies is much easier and so is earning Gems in the initial stages.
