Swimming in Assasin’s Creed Valhalla is very simple. What all you need to do is to jump into the water and your character will automatically start swimming. While swimming, if you want to dive underwater, you will have to Press C.

When you are underwater, Press C to swimming down and Press SPACE to swim up Press SHIFT to lunge.

Notably, swimming underwater consumes a lot of air. As long as you swim down, your health will keep decreasing. So, make sure to keep a close eye on your air status and return to the surface when it needed the most. The best thing is that air regenerates automatically the moment you reach the surface.
