The situation t BioWare seems to be cataclysmic after they’ve failed to meet the launch of the first Cataclysm in Anthem. The game has suffered a lot since its release and the troubles seem to be continuing for them.
In a joint statement by lead producer Ben Irving and head of live services Chad Robertson they said,
“While we have delivered many of the Act 1 features on time, we are not going to hit all the goals on our Act 1 Calendar, we set aside time for this work, but the reality is there are more things to fix and improve than we planned for. While this is the best thing to do for the game, it means some items from the calendar will be delayed.”
A lot of the things promised in the roadmap will not be made available and have been pushed indefinitely. The list of things delayed include Mastery system, Guilds, Legendary Missions – Phase II, Weekly stronghold challenge, Leaderboards
Some free play events, and Cataclysm.
All this point to the poor management by the developers how one developer renowned for producing iconic games have done so poorly.
It was earlier reported the many issues played a factor in the demise of Anthem and how not having a single focal point who could guide the product to a successful release.
Anthem lacks a lot in the end-game and fans have made the developers known of their displeasure. Almost everything promised ahead of Anthem’s launch has fallen short.
It seems highly unlikely that Anthem could save itself from the doom that they are heading towards
