Now that everyone’s getting settled in their villages in Animal Crossing New Horizons, Nintendo has revealed that they are planning for new fishing events in the game. These fishing events will be held on every island and should give each and every player something to look forward to.
The fishing events are held by a beaver named C.J. and the first one began on April 11, 2020. Though not to worry about as these fishing events will be held in the future too and you can take part as many times as you like.
The fishing tourneys will be held on every second Saturday of April, July, October, and January, make sure to check out your island right now.

The best thing about the fishing events in Animal Crossing New Horizons is the fact that it is available to residents in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, and when you take part in the fishing competition you can earn tons of fishing-related rewards.
You get three minutes to catch as many fishes as you can, while this seems easy enough it can really be challenging. You get bonus points if you catch more than three fishes, to participate in these tournaments it is free for the first try.
But subsequent trials will cost you about 500 Bells, the rewards are amazing and you will get rewards relative to your efforts. You can earn the following rewards for participating in the fishing tourney:

- Fresh Cooler
- Tackle Bag
- Fish Print
- Fish Wand
- Fish Drying Rack
- Fish Rug
- Fish Umbrella

If you earn 100, 200 or even 300 points you can even get trophies that C.J. will send you the special gift in the form of Bronze, Silver or Gold Fish Trophy in the mail.
