This article will share some of the details and the POIs of these maps.
Warzone 2 map details and POIs for Al-Mazrah and Ashika Island
Al-Mazrah and Ashika Island are major parts of what makes Warzone 2 different. At the same time, these maps are designed with the new gameplay elements of Warzone 2 in mind. Let’s take a look at each map and know more about them individually.
Al-Mazrah map
Al-Mazrah is set in a fictional country in the Modern Warfare universe called the Republic of Adal. The map is far larger than Verdansk from the original Warzone and has a different setting and theme to it. It is said to be the biggest BR map that COD has made yet. In fact, it is so big that it splits into three different rings and then merges into one at the end.
Water is a new feature on this map as it was not possible to go in the water before. You can even drive boats and jetskis across the rivers and rotate around by utilizing the water. This map also featured a 2v2 gulag which was new to the series but has been removed since due to bad reception. There are also 2 trains going in each direction on this map which rotate around the edges of the map, making it an option if you need to quickly move around the map.
It also features Strongholds, which are places where enemy AI has taken over a building. You can kill them and invade this building to get a guaranteed loadout.

While it is smaller than Al-Mazrah, it is still bigger than the resurgence map in the original Warzone aka Rebirth Island. Ashika Island is a small archipelago located in an undisclosed location that is somewhere in the Asia Pacific region. It was originally meant to be a resort destination, but work on it was stopped due to unknown reasons.
This map has a new feature called Redeploy Drones which let you zip up in the air and deploy your parachute again as if you are dropping in. Hence, this makes rotation far easier on this map as you can fly out of harm’s way or get to places very quickly.
It also features a huge underground water tunnel called the Waterways which can be used to go across the map by going under it. This map only has resurgence mode available for now but it may have regular BR later.
