How to Complete ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ Challenge in Dead Rails
The estimated time to complete it can change depending on various factors; however, it can be completed in about 1 to 1.5 hours. The main goal is not to sell anything. So, you must loot every item you use. You must not claim bounties as well. Buying gear with bonds is allowed—use this to prep before the run begins.
Which are the best classes for this challenge?
Conductor (50 Bonds) is a good class for this challenge because it’s a Train-oriented one where you can drive the train at a higher max speed compared to any other class as of now. You can drive it at 85 sp/s as opposed to 65 sp/s. Plus, you spawn with 2x Coal, helping you with fuel.
Apart from this, the Miner class also works because it spawns with 2x Coal and costs only 15 Bonds. You can also go for the Cowboy class, which costs 50 Bonds since it comes with a horse, saddle, shovel, revolver, and its ammo. This will save money that you need for a weapon purchase, and if you run out of fuel, you can ride the horse to get to the destination. In case a werewolf starts chasing you, make your way toward the next safe zone and let the turrets do their part.
If you have an alt account, you can join as a Cowboy and your alt can be a Miner. The account can drop the pickaxe for you to collect, and then leave the game. This brings you to a solo run, but with a pickaxe you can use to Mine ore.
Starting with just $20 means you’ll need to scavenge every building, crate, and corner, including Fort Constitution. Focus on fuel and firepower as much as possible and if you’re playing with a team, you can divide the tasks among players. If you come across a bandit camp, you may find a lot of weapons, ammo, armor, bonds and more bonus loot like Sheet Metal.
If you’re attempting to complete the challenge solo, here’s what you can do. Play as a Vampire and pick up the newspapers you see at the beginning of your run to block the sun. Cowboy will also work and if you choose to play as a Miner, you can mine ore to get Coal for your train.
