Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Won’t Have Microtransactions, Developers Confirm

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time No Microtransactions

After an indication from the Microsoft Store that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time would have “in-game purchases”, people began to wonder whether the game will have any kind of microtransactions at launch. According to developer Toys for Bob, that is not the case, and it seems that the reason for the mention appears to be linked to free skins available in pre-order bonuses.

This week there was a rumor that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will include microtransactions based on the Microsoft store listing. Luckily this will not be the case. The game’s developers have stepped in and have stated that the game will not include any kind of microtransactions.

The developers at Toys for Bob have confirmed that Crash Bandicoot 4 will have “no microtransactions” in its new release, and stated the following: “We’re seeing confusion about #MTX in @CrashBandicoot 4 and want to be Gem stone clear: There are NO MICROTRANSACTIONS in #Crash4. As a bonus, the Totally Tubular skins are included in all digital versions of the game.”

This is of course great news, but we would certainly approach this statement with caution. This is because, Activision is known for adding microtransactions to many of its games only after a certain period of time the game has been released, in order to avoid criticism in any way.

If, of course, DLC or more cosmetic elements through in-game purchases will be added in the game, the developers might implement some kind of microtransactions in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time like it did with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will release on October 2 on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
