Revealed: Is This The Real File Size of Last of Us Part 2?

And it's not 100 GB

It was previously revealed that the Last of Us Part 2 file size will be 100GB, but as it turns out, it will be a little less than that. Nowadays, many AAA titles have high disc space requirements and it was assumed that TLOU2 will follow suit. But as per one Reddit user who has snagged an early copy of the game, it looks like The Last of Us Part 2 file size is reportedly around 78GB.

The file size will increase as more updates are added but the initial file size is quite less than the estimated 100GB. Even though it’s lower than expected, it still is the highest file size for any Naughty Dog game till now. Plus the “insane attention to detail” that the game has been given will surely translate to a higher file size. Take a look at what was revealed in The Last of Us Part 2 ‘Inside the Details’ video. Naughty Dog also revealed 24 minutes of gameplay recently where they showed us more gameplay details and some changes that have been added to TLOU 2.

The game still has a lot of hype around it, despite the unfortunate leaks that hampered it gravely. Sony did end up identifying the people who leaked the content but for many players, the damage was done. The game has also been banned in the Middle East, possibly due to the LGBTQ content and nudity that it will feature. It was one of the biggest, if not the biggest, game leaks in history. But nevertheless, a big fraction of the audience is still very much excited about the game and is preparing to get it as soon as it launches.

The Last of Us Part 2 will be released on PS4 on June 19, 2020. For more news and updates about TLOU 2, stay with gamertweak.
