Mass Outbreaks are back in Pokemon Legends Arceus and are even better this time. In case you don’t know, Mass Outbreaks was originally introduced in the 2nd Generation of the Pokemon games. The trainers registered to your Pokegear would call you if there was a mass outbreak nearby. But with the new mechanics of this game, the way outbreaks work has also changed. So in this guide let us take a look at what Mass Outbreaks are in Pokemon Legends Arceus and how to catch shiny.

What are Mass Outbreaks in Pokemon Legends Arceus

what are mass outbreaks in pokemon legends arceus

A Mass Outbreak is an event that spawns swarms of Pokemon in a certain area. This swarm will then have that same Pokemon spawn repeatedly. So for example, if you find the outbreak of Pikachu. During the entirety of the Mass Outbreak, multiple Pikachu will spawn in that area. A Mass Outbreak should last for around 15 minutes. Mass Outbreaks are very helpful when you are trying to complete your research, but they are especially important if you want to get a Shiny Pokemon.

    How to Catch Shiny Pokemon

You can catch shiny Pokemon from Mass Outbreaks and Space-Time Distortions. But Mass Outbreaks greatly increase your chance of encountering a shiny. Below are the chances of you encountering a Shiny in a Mass Outbreak.

    • Normally: 26 in 4096 Pokemon
    • Level 10 Special Research: 27 in 4096 Pokemon
    • Perfect Special Research: 29 in 4096 Pokemon
    • Level 10 Special Research with Shiny charm: 30 in 4096 Pokemon
    • Perfect Special Research with Shiny charm: 32 in 4096 Pokemon

List of Pokemon that appear in Mass Outbreaks in each region.
