How to Get Scorpion Shell in 99 Nights in the Forest
Scorpions are hostile creatures found mainly in the Volcanic biome, particularly near Scorpion Nests and Scorpion Pits. These creatures have moderate strength: they have about 50 HP, and deal base damage of 20 per hit, plus poison damage with each attack, making them dangerous if you let them land multiple hits. Their movement speed is relatively low in normal wandering, but increases to medium speed when coming out of nest areas.
In terms of behavior, scorpions will roam aimlessly until you come into their detection range or they are provoked. Once alerted, they will chase you down and attack when close enough. They can also stop their aggression if all players move out of their detection radius or if they get too close to a lit campfire. If a scorpion strays far from its spawn point without engaging you, it will most likely teleport back to its original spawn.
When defeated, Scorpions have a chance to drop two specific items: Morsels, which are dropped commonly, and more importantly, the Scorpion Shell, which is much rarer. The Scorpion Shell is classified as a pelt item and it’s only found in the Volcanic biome, and only as a drop from Scorpions upon their death.
From a strategy perspective, when engaging scorpions, it’s best to use the environment to your advantage. Stay close to campfires to stop their aggression. Also, dealing with them before they poison you is crucial so make sure you use ranged attacks or try hit-and-run tactics. Since the Scorpion Shell is rare, you will need to keep farming scorpion nests to improve your chances of obtaining this useful resource.
