Is Yakuza: Like a Dragon On Nintendo Switch?

Will Yakuza: Like a Dragon be on Nintendo Switch?

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a new role-playing video game developed and published by Sega. The game has already been released in Japan for PlayStation in January this year. The global launch of Yakuza: Like a Dragon is all set to take place on November 10, 2020 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

There is no denying that Yakuza: Like a Dragon is releasing on almost all leading platforms but there are people who are wondering whether it will arrive on Nintendo Switch or not.

The developer of the game has confirmed to launch Yakuza: Like a Dragon on PS5 next year but they have not spoken anything about its Nintendo Switch release as of yet. The series producer Daisuke Sato did not believe the Switch was a good fit for games like Yakuza.

When he was asked about Yakuza’s release on Nintendo in 2018, he had claimed that it was not an ideal platform. The reason Daisuke Sato had mentioned in the statement was due to his belief that Switch owners are “used to different games.” Given the continued third-party support for the Switch on notable titles, I can’t say I agree.

Looks like the developer and producer of the game do not want Yakuza: Like a Dragon to release on Nintendo Switch. When Yakuza creator and director Toshihiro Nagoshia was asked the same question last year, he responded saying he hadn’t considered it at the moment. While far from a hopeful statement, it is a smidge better than saying the console isn’t ideal.

What all we can do is wait and watch until Sega makes any official announcement regarding Yakuza: Like a Dragons’ Nintendo Switch release.
