From huge announcements to big surprises, the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 revealed plenty of upcoming games (some with confirmed release dates and some without) to hype players up. As with every showcase, this gave us a better idea of what and when to expect these anticipated games. With every reveal, we also found out which games are coming out as a Day One release with Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Showcase 2023 Games List & Release Date Info
Towerborne
- Game Pass: Yes
Coming in the year 2024 from the creators of the Banner Saga series, Towerborne is a co-op fighter and adventure game.
Still Wakes the Deep
- Game Pass: Yes
While playing as the Oil worker in Still Wakes the Deep, you must survive the storms in the middle of the ocean. With no exit or comms on your radio, you must make your way out of the North Sea. This game is expected to come out in early 2024.
Starfield
- Game Pass: Yes
Aside from Bethesda’s Starfield Direct Showcase or Deep Dive gameplay lasting almost an hour, Microsoft shared a glimpse of its new trailer. The Starfield is coming out on September 6, 2023, on Xbox Series X | S and PC platforms.
Star Wars Outlaws
- Game Pass: No
Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws was one of the most hyped reveals in the Xbox Games Showcase. Rather than a force wielder or lightsaber, we witness smugglers, criminals, Rancors, and Stormtroopers in a cinematic trailer. It will feature an open-world setting with plenty of Star Wars references (& cameos). Star Wars Outlaws will be out in the year 2024, on Xbox Series X | S.
South of Midnight
- Game Pass: Yes
With no confirmed release date as of now, South of the Midnight is an action-adventure game. It will be accessible via Xbox Game Pass, PC via Steam, & Xbox Series X |S consoles.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
- Game Pass: Yes
Returning as the protagonist of the Hellblade series, Senua has more disturbing voices inside her head in the sneak-peek trailer. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be released in the year 2024.
Cyberpunk 2077 (Phantom Liberty Expansion)
- Game Pass: No
Joining Keanu Reeves and the cast of Cyberpunk 2077, Idris Elba will be playing an Enforcement officer in this DLC expansion. The Phantom Libery Expansion will be released by September 27, 2023, on Xbox Series X | S, PS5, and PC.
Clockwork Revolution
- Game Pass: Yes
Set up in a steampunk-themed universe, Clockwork Revolution is an FPS game from InXile. As seen from the trailer, the game’s central plot, and lore will revolve around time travel.
Cities: Skylines 2
- Game Pass: Yes
Avowed
- Game Pass: Yes
While it was announced in the Xbox Games Showcase 2020, Avowed is a first-person RPG by Obsidian Entertainment. This game will be set in the same universe as Pillars of the Eternity. It will be coming out in the year 2024 on Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
33 Immortals
- Game Pass: Yes
As the name implies, this game will pit 33 players on a battlefield to fight against dangers. Being a roguelike coop multiplayer, the 33 Immortals revolves around fighting waves of enemies, mobs, and bosses together.
Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island
- Game Pass: Yes
Collaborating with the characters of Monkey Island, Sea of Thieves will embark on a new journey with this crossover. This new content will be out on July 20, 2023.
Fable
- Game Pass: Yes
After waiting for a long time, the anticipated Xbox players received the first look at the upcoming Fable reboot. While its release date is unconfirmed as of now, it is expected to come out on Xbox Game Pass as a Day One release.
Dungeons of Hinterberg
- Game Pass: Yes
Giving a fresh addition to the Xbox Games Showcase this year, Dungeons of Hinterberg features a cell-shaded art style in a modern-day fantasy setting. You will be solving puzzles, slaying monsters, and taking on fast-paced combat throughout the game. This game is expected to come out in early 2024.
Persona 3 Reload
- Game Pass: Yes
After months of leaks and rumors, Persona 3: Reload will be out by early 2024. Although its release for PlayStation is unconfirmed, it will be eventually announced soon.
Metaphor: Refantazio
- Game Pass: Yes
If you are a fan of the Persona series, you might enjoy this fresh addition from the devs at Atlus with a new world setting. This game will be released in the year 2024.
Persona 5 Tactica
- Game Pass: Yes
Persona 5: Tactica is a spinoff game and the third addition by Atlus at the Xbox Games Showcase, this year. Inspired by the Fire Emblem’s gameplay and tactics, this game is slated to release on November 17, 2023.
Jusant
- Game Pass: Yes
Set in the fantasy world, Jusant is an upcoming action-climbing and puzzle game by DON’T NOD. This game will be a meditative journey focussing on climbing. And will be out in Fall 2023, this year.
Forza Motorsport
- Game Pass: Yes
The reboot for Forza Motorsport is coming out on October 10, this year. As it is a reboot and follow-up of Forza Motorsport 7, you can expect gorgeous next-gen graphics with captivating visuals from this game.
Payday 3
- Game Pass: Yes
Similar to every Payday title, the third installment is all about bank heists, cops, and many Lock picking tactics. Payday 3 is confirmed to arrive on Xbox Series X | S and PC on September 21, 2023.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
- Game Pass: Yes
Following the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, we see Ichiban Kasuga waking up on the beach fully naked. While its release is unconfirmed, it’s slated to release on Windows PC and Xbox Series X | S, next year.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
- Game Pass: Yes
The upcoming Capcom title features an epic clash between Spirit Realm and Mortal Man with Japanese aesthetics. While its release date is not announced yet, this game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on Day One.
Overwatch 2 Invasion
- Game Pass: Yes
Featuring the next big update titled Invasion, Overwatch 2 will be getting a new game mode, Flashpoint. In addition, the Firing range and Hero masteries will be included in this update. It is slated to release on August 10, 2023, with several perks for Ultimate Game Pass subscribers.
Microsoft Flight Simulator (& Dune Expansion)
- Game Pass: Yes
Alongside the upcoming Dune 2 movie’s release, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be heading to Arrakis planet and its spicy dangers with a new expansion. From the trailer, the game will also be adding new upgrades and improvements to the game. This game will be coming out on November 3, 2023.
