How To Complete The X Marks the Spot Quest In Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings Of Ruin
The quest is divided into three parts and you will have to visit three different locations to complete this three-star quest.
Location 1: Sailor’s Beach – Alcala Region
As you get to the sailor’s beach, go all the way south where you will be met with a boat. Once there, you will see a shiny object in that region around the boat. Interact with it to find a message in the bottle that gives the next clue. It will tell you to get to a waterfall with a vague line.
Hint – In a beautiful place where water forever pours from up high, is where I left my treasure to silently lie.
Location 2: North Kamuna Cape – Hakolo Island
Once you are done with your first clue, head to the Hakolo island where the Hapuna Falls are. This is the next location for the x marks the spot quest in monster hunter stories 2. You can travel there by fast traveling to the North Kamuna Cape Catavan Stand and heading east where the fall is located. Alternatively, you can exit Mahana Village and find it on your left. Once at the waterfall, go to the right side of it and at the foot of the cliff, you will see another shiny collectible that will have something engraved on the cliff wall. Collect that and you will get the next clue.

Location 3: Zeramon Oasis – Lamure Region
Firstly, you’ll need to unlock this region if you haven’t already by completing the story in Loloska. Once the region is unlocked, fast travel there. You will find the Zeroman Oasis sitting right in the middle of the location with a red rock formation. Right at the foot of the formation will be your next clue. However, keep in mind that you will need to go there in the evening time to actually see the clue.
Once you interact with the shiny collectible, you discover that the treasure is a hand mirror that a lover’s wife once had. It was his ultimate treasure. There will be an engraving on the back of the mirror saying:
‘A memento of my beloved late wife. It shines in the night as her radiance did in my life. No treasure I ever owned was more dear. Take it now, treasure hunter, and keep it near’
