Hey gamers,
At GamerTweak, we’re rolling out our Late Review initiative, where we publish reviews/videos at least two weeks or more after the game launch.
WHY?
Because we believe both the game and you, the players, deserve a fair shot at experiencing something fresh—free from the noise of early reviews and overwhelming video content.
Lately, review bombings and an overload of “VIDEO” content have become major issues with new releases. As someone who loves diving into a fresh game, exploring its story, and discovering new gameplay mechanics, I’ve found that all this early chatter can kill my excitement.
It’s like getting a second-hand experience before you’ve even had a chance to play.
We know you can relate.
Too much content too soon can spoil the game’s persona, making everything feel less exciting.
Sure, media outlets and content creators might profit from this rush, but it’s unfair to the games themselves—some of which could have a lasting impact if given the chance.
Developers and publishers have addressed this, and it’s affecting their revenue, leading to a more cautious, less innovative industry. If review bombing and content spamming continue, we might only see safe, recycled ideas from big studios, and that’s not the future we want.
So here’s our appeal:
IF you’re excited about a game, give it some time. Skip the early reviews and videos, check out the refund policies, and dive in with a fresh perspective. Enjoy the story, the characters, and the gameplay—experience it all firsthand. Then, if you have issues with it, speak up.
Your honest feedback after playing is what truly matters.
Let’s make gaming better together.
