If you’ve explored some detailed gardens created by other players in Grow a Garden, you might notice many use Gnomes in them. This might make you wonder what do Gnomes do exactly? Is there a boost you get for having them, or are they purely cosmetic? Here’s what you need to know.
What do Gnomes do in Grow a Garden?
Gnomes are cosmetic items obtainable from the Gnome crates. These can be purchased from the Gnome merchant at various prices. This NPC spawns every 4 hours and will appear next to the Seed shop for 30 minutes before he disappears with his current stock.
- Common Gnome Crate costs 56 million Sheckles or 149 Robux
- Farmers Gnome Crate costs 88 million Sheckles or 179 Robux
- Classic Gnome Crate costs 113 million Sheckles or 199 Robux
- Iconic Gnome Crate costs 155 Sheckles or 199 Robux
- And more might be added in the future, depending on the theme of the update.
Once you buy a crate, there’s a % chance of getting a particular Gnome, just like seeds from a seed pack. There’s Sleepy, Crazy, Grumpy, Silly, Fearless, Raphael, Steven, Sam, Zombie, Bacon, Builderman, and many different Gnomes that can add a unique look to your garden.
When you get one, equip it via the Cosmetics inventory icon shown at the top left corner of the screen and indicated by a hammer and wrench symbol. Place it anywhere in your garden and rotate it as you wish. If you change your mind in the future, you can change its location again.
So, to answer the question of what do Gnomes do in Grow a Garden, they simply add to the overall look of your creation, without giving any boosts in terms of mutations, value, or passive ability like pets. You can buy them with Sheckles, Robux or gift them to your friends or other players with Robux as well.
