How to Get Weird Algae Bait in Fisch
You can find Weird Algae from Quality bait crates which can be purchased from Terrapin island, or you can visit Snowcap island, fish in its waters and have a chance of catching it.
If you have more than enough money, the fastest way is to purchase the crate from Terrapin Island. When you reach the location, head to this spot and there should some boxes kept nearby.
Interact with them and you’ll see which bait you received. The Weird Algae isn’t a guaranteed drop every time you unbox the crate, so you may have to keep spending until you find plenty of this particular bait. Each box costs 525C$ which is quite expensive.
So, in case you don’t want to spend in-game cash, make your way to Snowcap Island on your boat (or hitch a ride) and then start fishing in the ocean or the pond.
There’s another way to obtain Weird Algae and that’s by opening Treasure Chests. These chests aren’t common because to reach them, you need a Treasure map. This map can be randomly caught while you’re fishing anywhere on the map. When you do catch it, you’ll see that it needs to be fixed.
To complete the Treasure map, visit an NPC (Captain Jack Marrow) in a cave on Forsaken Shores and pay him 250C$ to repair it. When you have the full map, you will get the GPS coordinates. Make sure you have the GPS purchased beforehand because you won’t be able to see the coordinates without it.
Visit the exact location to find the Treasure Chest. After unlocking it, there’s a chance you may get Weird Algae or it could be the Sunken Rod, a Totem, Enchant relic or any other reward.
