As a fellow Destiny 2 player, I love the wide range of cool weapons it features. And the new weapon crafting mechanics, add a cherry on top. You can respec some of the weapons to suitable perks and patterns. In all, 29 available weapon patterns can be extracted. But it involves completing several prerequisites to unlock weapon patterns. Not to worry, here’s our guide on how to unlock and get weapon patterns in Destiny 2.
How to Get Weapon Patterns in Destiny 2
For the starters, you need to unlock the Deepsight ability that allows you to interact with hidden weapons and get on with the weapon crafting. These hidden weapons are red-bordered Resonant weapons that can be solely reshaped or shaped into a modified weapon. You can obtain these Resonant weapons by completing several missions and getting world drop rewards.
As you progress through the Destiny 2 Witch Queen campaign, get the first Resonant weapon named Enigma Glaive on completing the second mission. You need to increase the weapon levels of this Resonant weapon to unlock more of the modifying components. These are the following weapon components that can be customized:
- Frame Intrinsic
- Barrel perk (depends on the type of weapon)
- Magazine perk (depends on the type of weapon)
- Trait
- Choose another Trait
- Choose Mementos (optional and not available on the first Crafting)
You can modify or reshape weapons only at the Relic in the Enclave. So, you need to head over to the Throne World destination and interact with the Relic in the Enclave. The above weapon components are unlocked as the level of your weapons increases.
How to Unlock Weapon Patterns in Destiny 2
Now that we have understood how to respec a weapon, let’s get on to the Weapon patterns. For unlocking it, you need to Attune the weapons once its weapon level has increased. It is similar to the weapon’s level progression. As you use the Resonant weapons for missions and objectives, you progress its Attunement. You can track its attunement progress by clicking on the weapon details button.
Once its attunement is completed, you can claim its weapon elements and extract its weapon pattern.n addition to that, you can track the progress of unlocking a weapon pattern by heading to the Patterns and Catalyst section in the Triumphs menu.

While some weapon patterns of these Resonant weapons are unlocked upon completing specific missions, some require multiple Deepsight Resonance extractions. You can find these weapon patterns during objectives, activities, or the campaign itself. All you need to do is collect the red-bordered weapons, increase their weapon level, and Attunement progress.
