How To Get Water In Subnautica: Below Zero

Published Date :

Just like in real life, water is the basic necessity in Subnautica Below Zero. This underwater exploration game has water all around you and the topic of our article may seem ironic, but that water is not drinkable. You will have to craft this vital resource so that you do not experience dehydration and keep your water stat in check. So let us help you quench your thirst and tell you how to get drinking water in Subnautica: Below Zero.

How to Get Water in Subnautica: Below Zero?

There are two sources to get water in Subnautica: Below Zero which is Fish and Water Filtration Machine.

Source 1: Fish

Bladder Fish water stat

Fish is a simple way to get some H2O in your system in Subnautica: Below Zero. Go out in the water and catch the fish. Return to the base and head on to your ‘Fabricator’. Under the ‘Sustenance’ option, select the option ‘Cooked Food’. Here you will get the options to cook whatever fish you have caught. Cook and consume them which will increase your water count. Alternatively, you can put fishes with high water stats directly into the ‘Water’ option under this same Sustenance option and craft it.

The stats differ from fish to fish. According to us, the Bladder fish is good for water stats. Keep in mind that the food deteriorates so consume it as soon as you can. If it is not consumed on time, it will give the player negative stats which will worsen the situation.

Another thing that will affect your water levels is cured fish. Any fish cooked with salt deposits may increase your health much more than regular cooked fish but will have a negative impact on the H2O levels due to the salt content.

Source 2: Water Filtration Machine

Water Filtration Machine

Water Filtration Machine can be your consistent source of water supply in Subnautica: Below Zero which helps filter the saline seawater into distilled drinking water. You can find this machine in Wrecks, Bulb Zone, and Dunes. One large filtered water can get you +50 water. It works on 51 units of energy per minute.

So that is all for our guide on how to get Water In Subnautica: Below Zero. If you would like to know about the Subnautica Below Zero World Map & Coordinates, make sure you check that article too.
