In the Gamescom week, Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York finally got a confirmed release date. The visual narration will be available in September.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York, the independent expansion of Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York, has received a launch date. The visual novel will release on September 10, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The developer Draw Distance announced this today.
In Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York, you slip into the role of a member of the Lasombra clan. According to the developers, previous knowledge of “Coteries of New York” is not required for the standalone expansion. The title should offer independent entertainment and excitement for fans of the series as well as for newcomers to the setting. It shows the familiar metropolis from a different perspective. New characters, new locations, and a fresh soundtrack are waiting for you.
Ultimately, you will experience a visual novel that explores topics of personal and political horror. “Explore the streets of the Big Apple. While you search for ways to satiate your bloodthirst, catch glimpses of various fascinating vignettes and forge connections with the eccentric inhabitants of the city. One playthrough won’t be enough to see it all,” said the makers.
With other games like World of Darkness, Bloodlines 2 and Redemption, Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York shares a universe, but this game is not a sequel or the like.
“You may spot some connections with the other titles, but Shadows is not a sequel to any existing products. The World of Darkness is a media franchise and shared universe, shaped by various creators and participants, meaning: all stand-alone stories play into a greater whole,” the description says in addition.
