In 99 Nights in the Forest, the Vampire Cloak is a powerful piece of armor that adds a vampiric twist to your survival strategy. Introduced in the Carnival Update, this cloak isn’t just a cosmetic addition – it introduces new mechanics that can help you turn the darkness of the forest to your advantage.
What is the Vampire Cloak in 99 Nights in the Forest?
There are two ways to obtain this armor:
- It’s found inside the Hedge Maze Chest after completing the Hedge Maze.
 - It is automatically given to players who choose the Vampire Class upon spawning.

Why use it?
- The cloak introduces a unique gameplay feature: the Blood Meter, which interacts directly with the game’s night cycle. During the night, the Blood Meter fills gradually. Once it reaches 100, your health automatically restores by a small amount.
 - The cloak reduces incoming damage, letting you endure more in combat.
 - You can also heal when near a campfire or when taking damage from enemies.

So, the cloak turns nighttime into your strongest advantage. Instead of avoiding all hits, taking light damage can trigger beneficial healing effects, and resting near campfires becomes doubly useful since you gain health from both the fire and the cloak.
How to Get and Equip It
- Complete the Hedge Maze to reach the final treasure chest.
 - Open the Hedge Maze Chest at the end to obtain the cloak.
 - Equip the Cloak in your armor slot to activate its effects.
 - You can also select the Vampire Class to spawn with, but that needs 600 Gems.

How to Make the Most of this Armor
- Engage at Night: Plan major fights when the Blood Meter builds faster.
 - Use Campfires Wisely: Stay near them for a double healing effect.
 - Balance Risk and Reward: Taking small, controlled damage can help trigger healing – just avoid overextending.
 - Track the Blood Meter: When it’s full, you’ll heal automatically, so time your retreats around that.
 - Pair with Mobility Gear: Combine it with items that boost speed or stamina to help dodge while healing.

With Vampire Cloak’s Blood Meter mechanic and self-healing abilities, it rewards smart, nighttime play and risk-taking. If this is your preferred style of gameplay, going for this armor is worth the effort.
