Among all the fun things you can do in this Viking survival game, you can write on signs in Valheim. Why should you do that, you ask? Well, if you really want to organize your resources in chests or you want to simply put up a sign outside your house, you can write on signs and make it happen. In this guide, we will explain how to do it easily but before that, you need to understand how to create a signboard. Let’s jump right into it.
Valheim: How to Write on Signs?
You have to open up your Building menu which is where you will find Signs under Furniture.
You need 1 Coal and 2 Wood to craft it using a Hammer. Of course a Workbench has to be in range as well. You can get Coal quickly by overcooking and burning food in your Cooking station and if you’ve been playing Valheim for quite some time, you will have a lot of wood in your inventory by now.
- After you have built your Sign and placed it in a desired location, you have to interact with it.
- A pop up will give you the chance to enter text. This is what will appear engraved on the sign.
- Type whatever you want to name the sign as.
- That’s pretty much it. This is how to write on signs in Valheim.
Signs are not Showing Text/Words – What to Do?
Make sure that the three dots on the Sign are facing you. This is where many players go wrong. If you’ve got it facing away from you, you won’t be able to see the text even after typing it in.
Do note that whatever you decide to write on signs in Valheim, they have to be under the character limit of 50. But in order for the letters to be visible clearly, you have to work with a character limit of much less than that.
