Blueprint Fragments in Once Human are used to unlock and upgrade weapon and armor blueprints. If you’d like to know how this process works to help you craft stronger gear, this guide will come in handy.
Collecting Blueprint Fragments
Collect Blueprint Fragments by exploring the world, opening chests (especially Mystical Crates with a red glow), and completing various objectives. These particular crates will not respawn.
You can also get Blueprint Fragments from the Wish Machine which has a Gacha mechanic – you need to use the Starchrom currency to use this machine.
How to Use Blueprint Fragments to Upgrade your Gear in Once Human
When you loot Blueprint Fragments, you can use them to upgrade blueprints to get better stats on weapons and armor. Here’s how to get started.
- Open your inventory (the default key is I) and navigate to the Blueprints tab. You will see two more tabs below: Weapon Blueprints and Armor Blueprints.
- Each blueprint in the game has tiers (with some going from tier 1 to tier 5 based on rarity) that increases the stats for the weapon/armor.
- If you’d like to upgrade a blueprint tier, you need to use blueprint fragments from an item in the same collection. The collections as of now are Huntsman, Wanderer, Operator, Juggernaut, Beyonder and Stranger.
- When you have enough fragments, you can turn them into a weapon. These fragments come in various types corresponding to different weapon categories (pistols, rifles, shotguns, etc.).
- Once you have enough fragments for a specific blueprint, you can unlock it by clicking on the Fuse button.
Now there are two ways to upgrade your gear:
- Go to the Gear Workbench. Under Weapon Crafting, you will see if you can craft a weapon of a specific tier. For higher tiers, you need an Intermediate and an Advanced Gear Workbench.
- Another thing you can do to upgrade your gear is to go to the Calibration tab of the Gear Workbench and you will see the weapons and armor you have crafted. So, from here, you can improve the stats of the gear you want to use.
Things to keep in mind:
Blueprint Fragments are specific to the weapon or armor type. For example, fragments for a shotgun won’t unlock a sniper rifle blueprint.
If you get fragments for a blueprint you already have unlocked or maxed out, you can dismantle them. Just right-click on the fragment in your inventory and choose “Dismantle.”
Make sure to strategically using your fragments. You can either focus on unlocking a specific weapon or armor set you want to use. Spread the fragments out to upgrade various blueprints for more well-rounded gear options.
