In order to use the Scanner in Atomic Heart Tutorial, you will have to press R1 twice on your PlayStation and then hold it after the second press. For an Xbox User, the method remains the same. All you have to do is double to press RB and then hold it the second time. Now that you know the controls, you should also remember what each item will look like under the Scanner. Or more accurately, what is the color code for them:

  • Blue represents chests, drawers, and other containers that have resources you can loot.
  • White represents objects you can interact with like save stations, elevator call buttons, and others.
  • Purple represents items that are essential for the story part of the game. Although you will get a lot of help in terms of direction, sometimes you will to have to use the Scanner in Atomic Heart.
  • Orange represents enemies and if you hold a scanner over a particular enemy, you will be able to see a list of their resistances and weaknesses. Along with that, you can also check the loot that they will drop when defeated.
