Do some of Eve’s attacks remind you of similar resembling Combat Arts like Mortal Draw, Ashina Cross, or others from Sekiro? Well, the ones that you use in Stellar Blade are Beta Skills. You can use them to deal more damage than what you would usually do with normal attacks. They are also useful to break their attack chain or combos. However, you cannot simply spam them as they require energy to be used. So here is a quick guide on how you can use them, charge this energy, and the skills to help replenish them fast.
How to Use Beta Skills in Stellar Blade
To use Beta Skills, you have to press L1 and follow it up with the button of the equipped skill that you wish to use if you have enough Beta Energy. For example, if you want to use Slash, you can press L1 (Block) and press Triangle.
You can even charge some Beta Skills to make them more powerful, to do that you have to press and hold the skill buttons. So if you want to use a stronger variant of Slash, press and hold L1 along with Triangle, when you release them Eve will use a charged-up and more powerful variant of Slash.
How to Charge Beta Energy
The best way to charge Beta Energy in the early game is to use Perfect Parry. When done correctly it fills up two smaller boxes of the Beta Energy represented by BE above Eve’s HP bar.
This isn’t the only way to charge it though, another useful but weaker way to fill the BE bar would be to successfully land your attacks on your enemies. The more you do the faster it fills up.
Best Skills to Refill Beta Energy Fast
The best skill to charge Beta Energy fast is Beta Energy Theft from the Attack Skill Tree. This works especially well for new players since it can take some time for them to get used to parrying perfectly.
However, if you are a veteran of Souls-like games, especially if you come from games like Sekiro or Lies of P then the skills you should unlock are Beta Energy Recharge from the Survival Skill Tree. Here is how much SP each will cost you:
- Beta Energy Theft: 1 SP
- Beta Energy Recharge I: 1 SP
- Beta Energy Recharge II: 2 SP
That covers everything you should know about the Beta Skills in Stellar Blade. If you want some more help with other game basics I suggest you also check out how to get gold and increase max health.
