Using Ashes of War is pretty simple. To use them on your weapon, you will have to:

  • First, go to a Site of Lost Grace, you should interact with it.
  • Now if you have collected at least one Ashes of War in Elden Ring, you should see the option of Ashes of War in the Menu.
  • From there, Select the Ashes of War option and it will open up a menu where you can equip the Item to your Weapon.
  • Now, select the weapon you want to apply the Ashes of War to and then select the one you want to apply.
  • This will have applied the Ashes of War to your Weapon in Elden Ring.

If you are not want to change the Ashes on your weapon, just select it again and you can equip other Ashes of War. At a time you can have only one Ashes of War on your Weapon. This item will change the stats of your weapon and will also give it a Skill. Each Ash is unique and can be applied to s specific Weapon or Shield. They cannot be used on Bows, Light Bows, Glintstone Staves, and Sacred Seals as well as Unique Weapons like the Dragonscale Blade.

How to Get Them?

Ashes of War can be obtained in three ways. They are:

  • Drops from Bosses & Enemies.
  • Purchased from NPCs.
  • Looted from Dead Bodies.

They are not a random spawn so you will always find them in the same place as your previous playthrough. Once you find a single Ashes of War in Elden Ring, you will be able to progress quite a bit fairly easily. You can duplicate the Ashes of War by giving a Blacksmith a Lost Ashes of War. Once you do that, you will be able to select your desired choice of Ashes of War and duplicate it only once.

This was all about getting & using Ashes of War in Elden Ring. Hopefully, this guide has helped you. You can also check our guides on Incantations & Sorceries Explained In Elden Ring.
