UBISOFT & BLAST NEW GLOBAL ESPORTS CIRCUIT

Ubisoft and BLAST announced further details on the Season 2023 of “BLAST R6”, the new global esports circuit for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow SixSiege. Built around nine regions – Europe, North America, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Hispanic Latin America, Asia, Oceania and MENA, BLAST R6 is set to launch during the week of 6th March. More details on Blast R6 can be found here.

The Season 2023 reveal is part of BLAST and Ubisoft’s multi-year partnership, which was announced last December and forms part of exciting plans to elevate and grow the Rainbow Six Siege esports scene.

Destinations for international events in Season 2023

    • In May 2023, to conclude Stage 1, BLAST R6 will welcome fans and teams to BLAST’s hometown, Copenhagen, Denmark for the very first Major of the season.
    • In November 2023, the second Major of the season will head to the United States.
    • And finally, for the Six Invitational 2024, all roads will lead to Brazil to crown the new World Champions.

    The BLAST R6 Majors

Starting in 2023, the Majors will follow an entirely new competitive structure, divided into 3 phases.

The 1st phase will gather 16 teams, coming from all nine regions. At the end of the 1st phase of the Major, the top eight teams will advance to the 2nd phase, joining eight other teams that will have directly qualified by performing well in their respective closed leagues.

The 2nd phase will see 16 teams compete. The top eight teams will qualify for the Playoffs, for a chance to become the BLAST R6 Major Champions of the corresponding stage and win a part of the USD $750,000 prize pool.

The nine regions and their paths to the Majors

There will be two paths to qualify:

      • the Opens, hosted in all nine regions
      • the closed leagues in select regions

Each region will qualify teams for the Majors:

      • 1 team from the Major EU Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) will qualify to the 1st phase of the Major,
      • 1 team from the EU League will reach the 1st phase of the Major,
      • 2 teams from the EU League will qualify to the 2nd phase of the Major.
    • North America will qualify 4 teams:

      • 1 team from the NA League will reach the 1st phase of the Major,
      • 2 teams from the NA League will qualify to the 2nd phase of the Major.

      • 1 team from the Brazil League will reach the 1st phase of the Major,

      • 1 team from the LATAM League will reach the 1st phase of the Major.
    • Asia will qualify two teams:

Each region’s circuit, including the structure of the Opens and Leagues, is detailed here

The path to the Six Invitational

With BLAST R6 consisting of nine regions, the Six Invitational Point System will be adjusted. The top 20 teams at the end of the season will qualify to the Six Invitational.

    Scoring points in the region:

      • At the regional level, each stage, teams will be ranked based on their performance in their attempt to qualify to the Major.
      • The top eight teams in each region will score points for the Six Invitational.

    Scoring points at Majors:

      • At the international level, teams will score points based on their performance at each Major
      • The 24 teams participating in each BLAST R6 Major will score points based on their final ranking.

At the end of each stage, the points that a team will score at the Major will be added to the points already scored at the regional level. In-depth details about BLAST R6’s Season 2023 can be found here: https://rainbow6.com/BLASTR6

Additionally, the detailed competitive format of the BLAST R6 Opens and Leagues in all nine regions, as well as the calendar of playdays, where to watch the matches, and the list of participating teams, will be communicated in upcoming updates.
