If you are looking to Master Stealth in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, then you should know how to make use of Traps. While progressing through the story, you will get an option to unlock this Tool (for free) from Abu Jafar Muhammad. But if you choose any other equipment, then you’ll have to get it later in the game. So in this guide, we will mention the steps for unlocking and getting more Traps easily. Moreover, this AC Mirage Trap Guide also features how to use it and upgrade it.
How & Where to Unlock Traps in Assassin’s Creed Mirage
To unlock Trap or any other Tool, you must head over and talk to a Banu Musa Brother. They are found at any Hidden One’s Bureau on the map. Once you have reached there, talk to a Musa brother and you will get the option to Unlock and Upgrade (or Reset) a Tool. Select the Unlock Tool dialogue option and a list of Tools will appear.
Since you are here for Traps, select it from the list and spend Skill Points to unlock it.
How to Use Traps in AC Mirage
To Use a Trap, you must first equip it by holding G on PC and RT/R2 on Xbox/PS. This will open a Tool Wheel wherein you can rotate the cursor and select Trap. To use it, you need to first aim and then use the attack button to throw it. If there’s an enemy nearby, he will come over to investigate it and this is when the Trap will blow up.
While playing, you will have several opportunities to use a Trap and you will eventually run out of it. But there are ways through which you can restock this Tool in your inventory and here’s how.
How to Get More Traps
Here are all the ways through which you can get Traps in AC Mirage:
- Loot
- You will find various chests that you can loot and if lucky, you can get some Traps from it. Aside from chests, you can also get Pickpocket civilians or soldiers to try and get this Tool.
- Purchase from Traders
-
- If you want to skip all the efforts, then you head over to a Trader and purchase Traps from them. It will only cost you a few Dirhams to buy this equipment. You can always return to a Trader and stock up Traps if you fall short of it.
To avoid getting a scarcity of Traps, you can equip the Extra Capacity upgrade on it. It will increase your ammunition capacity for this tool by 2. Scroll down below to learn about upgrading this equipment.
How to Upgrade Traps in AC Mirage
To upgrade Traps, you will have to talk to a Banu Musa Brother. After interacting with him, select the dialogue – Upgrade or Reset Tool to get Enhancements for Traps. Please note that you will need Upgrade Materials like Steel Ingots, Leather, and Components to get enhancements. For a detailed explanation of how Tool Enhancements works, make sure to check out our guide on it.
Here’s a list of all the Trap Upgrades that you can get:

If you have the Engineer Skill, you can equip a second Tier 1 upgrade for all the Tools in AC Mirage. For those who don’t know, this skill is a part of the Trickster Skill Tree and can be purchased for 4 Skill Points.
Just like Traps, there are Tools like Blowdart, Noisemaker, Smoke Bombs, etc. that you can grab. They make an excellent addition to your arsenal and can be used on multiple occasions.
