Elite raids is a new game mechanic, that is featuring Hoopa Unbound for you to catch. But even though you may be able to catch it, you can’t transfer it just yet. So in this guide let us check if you can trade Hoopa Unbound in Pokemon GO.

Can You Trade or Transfer Hoopa Unbound in Pokemon GO?

No, at the time of writing this article you can neither Transfer nor trade Hoopa Unbound in Pokemon GO. When you try to transfer it you will get a message that says you cannot transfer it. The big problem here is Hoopa Unbound is an alternate form of Hoopa Confined. This makes it incompatible with Pokemon Home because it doesn’t allow you to transfer such Pokemon from Pokemon GO.

The closest thing you can do is to change its form for transferring. That means you will have to turn it to Hoopa Confined for sending it to Pokemon Home.

And speaking about trading, as of now you cannot trade Hoopa Unbound in Pokemon GO. This has been confirmed by Pokeminers on Twitter. Maybe it could be a bug. So once it gets fixed you should have no problem trading it. But at the moment this option isn’t available.

How to Change Hoopa form in Pokemon GO

If you already caught a Hoopa Confined before, during the special research for Hoopa, then you can change its form. To change the form of Hoopa Unbound to Hoopa Confined you need:

  • Stardust: 2000
  • Hoopa Candies: 10

Here is how you can change its form:

  1. Select Hoopa Unbound from your Pokemon list.
  2. Click on the change form button if you have the required number of Stardust and Hoopa candies.
  3. Wait for it to transform and you will get Hoopa Confined.

Once you have Hoopa Confined you can transfer it to your Pokemon Home.
