There are plenty of interesting puzzles sprinkled all over Split Fiction and one such puzzle you’ll come across in Hopes of Spring consists of 3 totems. It can be slightly confusing because the totems pop out after they’ve been jumped on, which is what you need to use to your advantage.
As you’ll notice, there are 4 faces on each totem and 3 faces at the back in the order of blue, yellow, and red. Here’s how you need to manipulate the totems in the front to complete this puzzle.
Split Fiction Totem Puzzle Solution
- This is part of the fantasy section where Mio can turn into an ape and Zoe can turn into a Groot-like tree creature so first, go ahead and shapeshift if you haven’t already.
- As the Ape, get to the pink platform held up by the totem. As you stomp on a totem, it goes completely down and pops out one by one. Timing is of utmost importance here and your goal is to get the sequence of faces the same as the one shown behind. Zoe’s grasping ability will come in handy for this purpose.
- Here’s the order Mio has to jump on the totems and Zoe has to keep them in place.
- Mio jumps on the middle totem. Zoe waits until the Yellow face pops out and grasps it with her tree branches.
- Meanwhile, Mio moves to the right totem and stomps on it. We need the red face on the third one so, Zoe needs to pay attention, and as soon as she sees the red face, she needs to quickly grasp it too.
- Lastly, Mio jumps on the first totem to the far left and since it will immediately show the blue face (which is what we need), Zoe needs to grasp it right away.
This might need a few tries to get the timing right. After doing this correctly, you’ll see some flames on the totems in the front and the faces at the back will get fiery eyes. The gate opens and you’re ready to continue your adventure.
