The Underdark holds many dangers but also opportunities for those bold enough to explore its depths. One such opportunity can be found in the Myconid Camp, where a Hobgoblin Trader can introduce you to his friend – an Illithid named Omeluum. If you’re willing to take the risk, this mind flayer can help cure your tadpole problem. He asks you to drink a potent hallucinogenic mixture requiring two rare Underdark ingredients. We’ll show you where to find Timmask Spores and Tongue Of Madness in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).
Tongue of Madness and Timmask Spore Location in BG3
Two rare mushrooms, Tongue of Madness and Timmask Spore can be found within the Arcane Tower region of the Underdark in Baldur’s Gate 3. Here is how to locate both mushrooms:
Reaching the Arcane Tower
From the Myconid Colony, head south down a dirt path until you arrive at a beach area with dilapidated shanty houses. Look for a wooden bridge on the beach that travels westward. Follow this bridge to reach a wooded area, and continue on the direct path to the Arcane Tower entrance.
Beware of Arcane Turrets guarding the tower exterior. Use potions of invisibility or spells like Pass Without Trace to sneak past their sight lines undetected. If you alert them, sprint between covers to avoid being hit.
Inside the Arcane Tower
Once inside, take the elevator on the second floor up to the third floor. Interact with the Susur Blooms near the elevator to activate it if needed.
On the third floor, Timmask Spore can be found sitting on a shelf. The Tongue of Madness sits on the floor nearby. Collect both mushrooms here. You can also shoot any Timmask mushrooms growing in the tower to release temporary spore clouds.
