The Last of Us 2 Actor Laura Bailey Aka Abby Receives Death Threat

It is not new that The Last of Us 2 is a game with widely divided opinions, but this discussion began to get out of control now that an actress who participated in the making of the game received death threats from the fan community.

Laura Bailey is an actress who has been provided to portray various game characters with the Naughty Dog (Nadine Ross – Uncharted 4) label with a professional performance. However, several users are not at all happy with the existence of Abby, the last character with whom she participated in The Last of Us 2.

In Abby’s Twitter account, several messages began to gather, offending, or threatening her and her family. Through her Twitter account, Bailey shared several screenshots with truly disturbing hate messages against her, all of them for her work giving voice and movement to Abby in The Last of Us 2.

“Man. I try to only post positive stuff on here… but sometimes this just gets a little overwhelming. I blacked out some of the words cuz, ya know, spoilers. Side note. Thank you to all the people sending me positive messages to balance it out. It means more than I can say,” she said on her Twitter account.

“I hope your parents die by a hard cancer (…) I will find you and I will kill your kid. Just wait for that,” says one of the comments she received that you can see below.

Abby is arguably one of the most hated video game characters to have appeared. But beyond having done a good or bad job, the “fans” have reacted disappointingly, trying to kill the actress for the mere fact of having played the character.

The director and screenwriter Neil Druckmann had already criticized this situation a few days ago, but many believed that the attacks were directed at Abby’s facial model, Jocelyn Mettler.

The Last of Us 2 is now available on PlayStation 4.
