The Invincible Sci-Fi Thriller From Ex-Cyberpunk & Dying Light Devs Announced

The Invincible, a new first-person sci-fi thriller created by former CD Projekt RED and Techland developers, is currently being developed for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Krakow-based development studio Starward Industries has announced a new sci-fi thriller called The Invincible, which is set in a retro-futuristic timeline and based on the novel by Stanislaw Lem. The release is planned for the coming year and should take place on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC (via Steam).

In The Invincible, you slip into the role of a space explorer who is stranded on a hostile planet and is looking for his missing crew. However, he also comes across terrifying secrets in his search.

Here’s the official description of the game:

“You are a scientist onboard an interstellar scientific expedition, suddenly thrown into a life-or-death rescue mission. Landing on a planet Regis III you have to find the missing crew members using some advanced space equipment, whilst relying on your brains and instincts to survive on the planet which quickly occurs to be unwelcoming. Soon you’ll discover that Regis III holds terrifying secrets which are uncovered while you’re piecing together the fate of your crew. And as you delve deeper into the mystery, you realise that perhaps you are not alone, and that some places like this planet are better left untouched. But it’s too late to turn back.”

Furthermore, one can prepare for a first-person adventure in which analog and at the same time very advanced technology such as drones and autonomous robots can support or sabotage the mission. It also tells a non-linear story determined by relationships, decisions, and persuasive skills.

The development team also consists of 12 experienced employees who have worked in the past on games such as Dying Light, Dead Island, and also The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as well as the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077. Finally, Starward Industries will be headed by Marek Markuszewski, the former senior producer of CD Projekt RED.
