The Depths Key is a Legendary item added in the new update, and is located in a secret spot. It’s described as the key that leads to the gates of The Depths and due to its rarity, catching it can be slightly tricky. But when you do hook it, you will see a yellow exclamation mark over your character’s head, and upon successfully completing the fishing game, it will be added to your inventory. If you’re not sure how to use The Depths Key, here’s everything you need to know.
How to Find The Depths Key in Fisch?
Players need to head to Vertigo and fish there for a chance to obtain The Depths Key. Vertigo is a secret location that cannot be accessed from any island. Instead, you need to look for a strange whirlpool in the Ocean. You will be notified when one appears on your server and it’s randomly generated so you’ll have to wait till you see the message.
Then, you can hop onto your boat and look for white wind-like lines in the distance.
Remember that there will be normal whirlpools as well, and they don’t have wind coming off of them. What you need is a strange version and once you spot it, jump inside the whirlpool and you will be teleported to Vertigo.
Make sure you have at least C$444 with you because to get out of the Vertigo, you must purchase the Conception Conch (available at the Merchant named Synth right there).
Of course, you don’t have to get back out just yet! Players can fish in Vertigo at any time of day, during any weather and season for a chance to obtain the Legendary The Depths Key in Fisch. To get to the fishing spot, jump down from Synth’s shop to the bottom where there’s water for fishing (this location is called Vertigo Dip). There’s no specific bait you can use to increase your chances, so just keep fishing until you obtain the key.
How to use The Depths Key?
When you reach 100% Bestiary in Vertigo, you will be able to use The Depths Key to unlock The Depths.
Vertigo’s Bestiary includes:
- Twilight Eel (Uncommon)
- Fangborn Gar (Unusual)
- Abyssacuda (Rare)
- Voidfin Mahi (Rare)
- Rubber Ducky (Legendary)
- Isonade (Mythical)
When you have them all, go up to the hidden area filled with glowing red crystals on the map.
From your fishing spot, go upwards until you see the Keeper NPC with glowing pink eyes. Give the key to him and a gate will open up.
Opening the gate with the key will lead you to an Obby where the rocks you jump on will fall off as you go forward. Moreover, your fellow players won’t be able to enter it with you — only the one who opened the gate will be given access.
Complete the Obby successfully, and walk through the little gap and you will find yourself in The Depths. You can now start fishing to complete the bestiary of this region.
