There’s a new mutation called Tempestuous that has been spotted on crops in Grow a Garden and players are wondering how it applies to plants and what is its value multiplier. Here’s the early information available about it and how it can help boost your garden.
Grow a Garden Tempestuous Mutation
The Tempestuous mutation is one that appears when two other mutations combine, and is not directly based on a weather type or admin-triggered event. Word around the community is that the two mutations you need are Windstruck and Twisted, after which you can get Tempestuous, granting a possibly x12 value multiplier. Here’s how my garden’s Mango looks with it. While not shown in this screenshot, there are some yellow particles
However, I also have a Blueberry which shows Windstruck + Twisted instead of it combining into Tempestuous, so it’s unclear if there is a % chance of obtaining the combined version. It could also be glitched at the moment, because some players do have Windstruck + Twisted along with other mutations, but the first two did not combine into Tempestuous.
Some players say that Windstruck + Twisted needs to be combined with Cloudtouched, but it’s not confirmed yet.
How to Get Windstruck Mutation
You can get Windstruck on your plants during Windy and Gale weather events.
How to Get Twisted Mutation
Players can get the Twisted mutation during the Tornado weather or it can also be applied by the Pterodactyl pet from the Prehistoric update. It is obtainable from a Dinosaur egg or from the DNA converter. Its Sky Reptile ability occasionally applies Windstruck to multiple nearby fruits with a chance for Twisted.
If you’re not in-game during these events, you can keep an eye on Grow a Garden stock and weather notifiers to see what’s currently going on and log in right away.
More details will be revealed soon as glitches are fixed and the exact value multipliers are shared, so make sure to keep an eye out for them.
