Where to Find and Catch Sunfish in Fisch
Sunfish can be caught from Sunstone Island, accessed via a boat or surfboard. So use the one you’ve purchased or if you haven’t unlocked one yet, hop onto another player’s boat/ship. Once you reach Sunstone Island, start fishing during day time, clear weather and summer season to be able to catch the Sunfish. Any bait will work, so that makes things a bit easier.
In case you find a fish abundance area which coincides with these conditions, along with some added luck via a rod or something else, you will be able to catch it much more easily. However, players are also able to catch the Sunfish without following any of these requirements. I ended up catching it during rain at night while it was spring, and it was my second attempt, so it’s totally random.
