When playing Elden Ring, you will come across situations where you need to summon spirits to help you out and to do so, you need Spirit Ashes. While that sounds easy enough, the process to get the spirits to assist you can actually be a little more complex. If you are one of the many players finding it tricky to understand how to use Spirit Ashes to summon spirits, we have got just the guide for you. Here, we will show you all you need to do to carry out the summoning process.

How to Summon Spirits with Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring

To get Spirit Ashes to summon spirits in Elden Ring, you need to look all over The Lands Between. If you visit Witch Renna, she will give you Lone Wolf Ashes. Likewise, you will need to head over to Stormfoot Catacombs to get Wandering Noble Ashes. You also need to beat the Erdtree Burial Watchdog in Stormfoot Catacombs to get Noble Sorcerer Ashes.

To summon spirits, you also need to acquire the Spirit Calling Bell. We have included a guide on how to get the Spirit Calling Bell towards the end of this guide, so feel free to check it our. You need to head over to the Church of Elleh and meet Witch Renna to get this bell. Before you do so, however, you need to speak to Melina.

    Where can you Summon spirits?

Go to an area in Elden Ring that supports the process of spirit summoning. You can generally summon spirits in areas that have a lot of enemies.

You will know you are in an area that supports summoning with the help of a purple icon that appears on the left of your screen. Until the moment this slot appears, you will notice that all your consumable slots are greyed out.

Once the purple icon makes itself visible, you can summon spirits by pressing the Use Item button. Doing so results in a quick animation where you see the spirits make themselves visible and surround you. Each of these spirits will have its own health bars, and they can cause damage to you during the course of the animation.

Once you summon a spirit, you will need to rest at a Site of Grace before you continue to summon more spirits again.

    How to Dismiss Spirits

To dismiss spirits, you need to simply press the Use Item button again. Once you do so, you will receive a prompt asking you if you wish to send the spirits back to the beyond. Clicking on Yes will complete the process of dismissing the spirits.

So there you have it. This is all you need to know about summoning spirits in Elden Ring. As you can see, doing so is not too tricky. Just remember to follow all of the steps in this guide, and you should be good to go!

Nope, Titus isn't as serious as this picture implies. Began calling himself a gamer after burning his eyes out playing Road Rash as a kid. Somehow manages to get headshot in a game of Counter Strike even before a round begins. Oh, and he's also a photographer.
