Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 introduced the Storm Sickness mechanic in the battle royale experience. Caught up in the storm this time around, you might find yourself losing a bit too much health in the game. It is a clever way the developers, Epic Games, have developed to keep players on their toes and to speed up their gameplay during the match.
Fortunately, the Storm Sickness can be cured along the way to the Victory Royale. However, there are quite a few things that you will have to keep in mind on how the ailment works in Fortnite. And the very first thing that you will need to do to avoid it altogether is to run towards the Storm Eye as quickly as possible.
How Does Storm Sickness Work in Fortnite?
Storm Sickness is an ailment that will affect the players if they are caught up in the storm for far too long in Fortnite. Once the ailment takes over, players will receive a debuff that will triple their storm damage.
And while players will receive a warning when they are about the receive the debuff, it’s not something that players would want to stack up on their storm damage.
Storm Sickness will affect players after taking 600+ damage from the storm in Fortnite. This will steadily increase the damage done by the storm at which you will need to hurry up and catch the Storm Eye in the game. Players who fail to do so will meet total elimination rather quickly.
Once you are affected by Storm Sickness, the condition will stay for the entirety of the match. And getting caught up in the storm once again can deal extensive damage to the players in Fortnite.
How to Cure Storm Sickness in Fortnite?
For those who are looking to use their medkits to heal themselves would be a tad bit unfortunate as the ailment won’t disappear once you restore your HP. The only way you can cure Storm Sickness in Fortnite would be to head back inside the Storm Eye and stay there in the game. You will be able to treat the condition for the time being, however, reentering into the storm will toggle it on again.
This will lead to you taking thrice the Storm Damage in the game. We would suggest that you head back inside the eye rather than trying to wait out the storm itself. If you are lucky you might find yourself some vehicles to quickly avoid the storm altogether in Fortnite.
